The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has officially opened its admission screening registration for the 2026 academic session. The announcement was made in a statement signed by K. A. Bakare, the Registrar and Secretary to Council, and shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, June 16.
Eligibility and Requirements
The screening exercise is open to candidates who selected OAU as their first choice in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 200 and above. Direct Entry applicants who meet the university's requirements are also eligible. Only qualified candidates will be permitted to participate in the screening.
Registration Dates and Fee
Registration for the Post-UTME screening begins on Tuesday, June 16, and will close on Friday, August 14, 2026. The screening fee is set at N2,000, excluding any additional portal charges.
Application Procedure
Candidates are required to visit the university's admission portal and select the 'Verify your Details' option, using their JAMB registration number, email address, and phone number. After verification, payment can be made via card, bank transfer, USSD, or bank deposit. Once payment is successful, login credentials will be sent to the applicant's email. Those who do not receive their login details should return to the portal to confirm payment using their JAMB number or email. Applicants must then log in using their JAMB registration number as the username and complete the application form under the 'My Application' section before submission.
Screening Schedule and Instructions
The university has stated that all applicants will undergo physical screening at designated centres. Candidates can check their screening schedule on the admission portal starting from Monday, August 24, 2026. The screening exercise is scheduled to take place from September 1 to September 5, 2026.
OAU has warned that any applicant who submits false details or uploads incorrect documents will be automatically disqualified. The university also emphasized that it does not endorse or encourage the use of admission agents. Full admission guidelines for UTME, Direct Entry, foreign candidates, and persons with disabilities are available on the university portal. Enquiries should be directed to postutme2026@oauife.edu.ng.
