Six Conditions for the Job-Seeker Residence Permit
According to the Swedish Migration Agency's official website, applicants must meet all six requirements to be considered for the permit. The conditions are as follows:
- Valid passport: The applicant must hold a valid passport.
- Second-cycle qualification: The foreign candidate must have completed studies corresponding to at least a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Purpose of stay: The applicant must be planning to look for work or investigate the possibilities of starting a business in Sweden.
- Financial self-sufficiency: The applicant must be able to support themselves on a minimum of SEK 13,000 (approximately N1,766,416.55) per month and must also have sufficient funds to cover the cost of a return journey.
- Comprehensive health insurance: The applicant must have health insurance that is valid for care in Sweden.
- Location outside Sweden: The foreign national must currently be located outside of Sweden. Those already in the country are not eligible to apply through this route.
