First-Time JAMB Candidate Celebrates 2026 UTME Result with Online Post
A young man who participated in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination for the very first time has taken to social media to share a screenshot of his 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result. The individual, identified as @Akauba001 on Twitter, posted his scores in the comment section of a post made by JAMB's spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, shortly after the release of the results for candidates who sat the exam on the initial day.
JAMB Announces Release of 2026 UTME Results
Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson for JAMB, had earlier announced on his official page that the results for 632,788 candidates from the first day of the 2026 UTME, held on Thursday, 16 April 2026, were now available. He provided instructions for candidates to check their results by sending an SMS with the keyword "UTMERESULT" to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number registered during the exam process. Benjamin also issued a stern warning against result manipulation, noting that such actions constitute a criminal offence, with two candidates and one parent already in custody for falsifying scores using artificial intelligence and electronic means.
Candidate Shares Positive Experience and Scores
In response to this announcement, @Akauba001 expressed gratitude to God, stating that his first-time JAMB experience was smooth from registration to result checking. He shared a screenshot displaying his scores in four subjects: Geography, Government, English Language, and History. His post highlighted a sense of relief and accomplishment, resonating with many online users who often share similar educational milestones.
Context of Other JAMB Result Stories
This incident is part of a broader trend where candidates are increasingly sharing their UTME results online. In a related report, a young lady also posted her 2026 JAMB result screenshot, showing scores in English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Additionally, an art student who scored 49 in Christian Religious Studies (CRS) shared his result online, seeking advice from Nigerians on his desired course, which sparked numerous reactions and suggestions in the comment sections.
The release of the 2026 UTME results marks a significant period for Nigerian students aspiring to gain admission into tertiary institutions. JAMB has emphasized that the examination is ongoing, with results to be released progressively as they become available. Candidates are encouraged to follow official channels for updates and avoid fraudulent practices that could lead to legal consequences.
