JAMB Announces Release of 2026 UTME Examination Results
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially confirmed the release of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. Candidates who participated in the examination on Thursday, April 16, 2026, can now access their scores through designated channels. This announcement marks a critical milestone in the annual academic calendar for Nigerian students seeking admission into tertiary institutions.
How to Check Your 2026 UTME Results via SMS
To view their results, candidates must send an SMS with the keyword UTMERESULT to either 55019 or 66019. It is essential to use the same phone number (SIM card) that was registered during the UTME application process. At this initial stage, candidates can only check their results online; printing facilities are not yet available. JAMB advises all examinees to follow these steps carefully to avoid any delays or errors in accessing their scores.
Warning Against Result Manipulation and Falsification
JAMB has issued a stern warning to candidates against tampering with the SMS responses received from the official platforms. Manipulating or fabricating scores to mislead others, including parents, is considered a serious criminal offence. The Board emphasizes that such misconduct will be treated with the utmost gravity, and perpetrators will face legal consequences. Currently, two candidates and one parent are in custody for allegedly using artificial intelligence (AI) and other electronic means to falsify results. JAMB reiterates that any individual found guilty of result manipulation will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Ongoing Examination and Future Result Releases
The UTME examination process is still ongoing, and JAMB will continue to release results in batches as they become available. Candidates are encouraged to monitor official JAMB channels for updates and avoid relying on unofficial sources for information. This phased release ensures accuracy and integrity in the scoring process, aligning with JAMB's commitment to maintaining high standards in Nigeria's educational system.
As the 2026 admission season progresses, students are urged to stay informed and adhere to all guidelines provided by JAMB to secure their academic futures.
