The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2026 mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), paving the way for the commencement of candidate ranking and admission processing.

JAMB announced the release in a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin. The board said candidates who participated in the mop-up examination can now access their results through its official result-checking channels, adding that result slips required for admission processing would be available for printing before the end of the week.

According to the board, the release of the results marks the conclusion of the 2026 UTME exercise and signals the start of the next stage in the admission process. “Candidates who participated in the examination can check their results through the Board’s established result-checking channels,” the statement said. “Following the successful conclusion of the mop-up exercise and the release of the results, the Board will commence the ranking of candidates. Thereafter, the printing of results for admission purposes is expected to begin before the weekend.”
Background of the Mop-Up Examination
The mop-up examination was conducted on June 13 for candidates who were unable to sit the main examination earlier in the year. The 2026 UTME was held between April 16 and 23 across about 966 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide. However, technical challenges at some centres prevented a number of candidates from participating in the exercise, prompting the board to organise a mop-up examination.
Final Opportunity
JAMB had earlier announced that the mop-up test would serve as the final opportunity for eligible candidates to sit for the 2026 UTME, warning that no further examinations would be conducted after the exercise. The board reiterated its appreciation to candidates, parents, schools and other stakeholders for their cooperation throughout the conduct of the examination. “JAMB appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of all candidates and stakeholders throughout the conduct of the 2026 UTME and the subsequent mop-up exercise,” the statement added.
