Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda Holds 38th Matriculation Ceremony for 1,450 Students

Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, located in Zamfara State, has officially matriculated a total of 1,450 new students across its five academic schools. The ceremony, which took place on the institution's premises, was addressed by the Rector, Dr. Aminu Yusuf, who highlighted this event as the 38th matriculation in the polytechnic's history.

Expansion of Academic Programs Under New Leadership

Dr. Yusuf, who assumed office in February 2025, revealed significant academic growth during his tenure. Prior to his appointment, the institution operated with only three programs. However, within just one year, the management has successfully expanded this to 38 accredited programs at both the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels.

Key fields of study now offered include Accountancy, Engineering, and Environmental Sciences, among others. This rapid expansion aims to enhance educational opportunities and align with national development goals in technical and vocational education.

Enhanced Security Measures and Zero Tolerance for Crime

Addressing concerns about safety, the rector assured that the polytechnic maintains an effective security network. "We are working closely with all conventional security agencies in the state, and students and staff, as well as their property, are adequately protected," he stated.

Dr. Yusuf emphasized that students and staff can move freely without fear, thanks to these collaborative efforts. Additionally, the institution has implemented a strict zero-tolerance policy towards criminal activities such as cultism, robbery, internet fraud, and examination malpractice.

Infrastructural Developments and Renovations

In terms of infrastructure, the management has made notable improvements to support the growing student body. Dr. Yusuf highlighted the completion of approximately 2.5 kilometres of perimeter fencing, which enhances campus security and boundaries.

Furthermore, the institution's ICT facilities have been upgraded to modern standards, facilitating better learning and administrative processes. Most of the student hostels have also undergone renovations, with support from the Zamfara State government, ensuring improved living conditions for students.

This comprehensive approach to development underscores the polytechnic's commitment to providing a safe, modern, and academically robust environment for its community.
