Igbeyinadun Primary School has emerged as the champion of the 3rd Dacurate Primary School Leadership Quiz, triumphing over 14 other schools in a thrilling grand finale held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Iganmu, Lagos. The event, which drew over 300 students and 500 guests, marked the largest and most competitive edition of the quiz since its inception.

Competition Overview

The annual competition, organized by Dacurate Insight Initiative and supported by the Lagos State Ministry of Education, evaluates primary school students across 12 categories, including Nigerian history, African leadership, women in history, governance, technology, and international bodies. Unlike traditional quizzes, it focuses on understanding the world rather than rote memorization.

Preliminary Rounds and Finalists

The 2026 edition attracted over 30 schools in the preliminary rounds, which were narrowed down to 15 finalists. These finalists competed in rounds covering General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Critical Thinking. Lawyer and television host Timi Agbaje served as the Quiz Master, guiding the competition through each stage.

Watching these children compete at this level reminds me that the raw material has never been the problem. The question has always been whether we build the right environments for it to flourish. Dacurate is one of those environments.”
