A Lagos State University (LASU) graduate has shared his final Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) on social media, revealing the academic journey that led to his First Class Honours degree in Marketing. The graduate, who uses the handle @emmakuzz online, posted a screenshot of his results, showing a final CGPA of 4.80 out of 5.00, after starting his university education with a clear goal.
From 100 Level Ambition to Final Year Triumph
According to the graduate, he entered LASU with a single ambition: to finish with a First Class degree. That resolve was tested and confirmed across four years of academic work. In his first semester at 100 level, he scored a 4.89 GPA out of 5.00, a result he said confirmed the dream was achievable. The challenge then became sustaining that standard through the years that followed.
Reflecting on the journey, @emmakuzz wrote: "Started campus with one dream: First Class. 100lvl first semester: 4.89/5.00 GPA, this confirmed I could do it. 400lvl second semester: 5.00 GPA. Tears rolled down my eyes."
Perfect Final Semester and Emotional Milestone
By the time he reached his final semester in 400 level, the pressure had not broken him. He recorded a perfect 5.00 GPA in the second semester of his final year, an achievement that moved him to tears. The emotional weight of that final semester was as striking to many online as the result itself.
The cumulative figures across all years of study brought his final CGPA to 4.80 out of 5.00, earning him a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with First Class Honours from Lagos State University. He closed his post with a straightforward message: "Hard work truly pays."
Wide Online Reaction and Related Stories
The post resonated widely online, drawing attention from students and graduates who found the honesty of the journey compelling. In a separate report, Legit.ng noted that another LASU graduate, Eniolaoluwa Ade, held nine leadership positions while studying Mass Communication, earning 10 certificates and awards before graduating with a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) degree. The latest graduate's story, however, highlights the sustained effort required to achieve a First Class result, from the first semester to the last.
