The General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church Nigeria, Reverend Sam Aboyeji, has praised Life Theological Seminary for its unwavering commitment to advancing theological education across Nigeria. The commendation came during the institution's 2025 convocation ceremony held at its campus in Ikorodu, Lagos.
Celebrating Academic Excellence
During the memorable event, outstanding graduating students received not only their academic certificates but also cash awards recognizing their exceptional performance. The ceremony honored students across multiple academic levels, including those earning certificates, diplomas, Bachelor of Theology degrees, Master of Theology qualifications, and doctoral degrees in both Ministry and Philosophy.
Reverend Aboyeji expressed his admiration for the seminary's management and shared his optimism for future achievements following the institution's recent 70th anniversary celebrations. "In the nearest future, I believe that the new leadership of Life, with the coming in of Reverend Emmanuel Adejoro as New Provost will be able to align with modern techniques," he stated confidently.
Honoring Two Decades of Leadership
The Foursquare leader offered special recognition to the outgoing Provost, Professor Cletus Orgu, for what he described as "outstanding, enviable and productive leadership" over the past twenty years. Aboyeji highlighted that Professor Orgu's two-decade tenure had yielded significant, measurable results across multiple areas including infrastructure development, staff and personnel growth, student achievements, international recognition, and institutional affiliations.
"There was no doubt that he has served diligently and meritoriously," Aboyeji emphasized, acknowledging the profound impact of Orgu's leadership on the seminary's development and reputation.
Charging Graduates for Future Impact
Reverend Aboyeji also commended the efforts of the LIFE Governing Council Chairman, Reverend Joe Ameh, for his work in elevating theological education across the institution's various campuses and study centers. Both leaders challenged all graduating students to maintain their role as pacesetters, in alignment with the ceremony's theme.
Reverend Ameh, in his address, urged the new graduates to pursue greater achievements in transforming society. Professor Orgu provided an account of his stewardship during the event and assured attendees that the theological seminary would continue to bear fruit for God's glory and the blessing of future generations.
The ceremony featured Pastor Mathew Asimolowo, Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre and an alumni of the institution, as the Guest Preacher. He reinforced the message to graduating students, encouraging them to go forth and transform their world as true pacesetters in their fields.
