In a significant boost for higher education in Ondo State, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full approval for the University of Fortune in Igbotako to commence seventeen new undergraduate degree programmes. The regulatory body's approval was formally communicated in an official letter dated 29 December 2025. The correspondence was signed by Abubakar M. Girei, the Acting Director of Academic Planning, who acted on behalf of the NUC's Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu. The letter confirmed that the university had satisfactorily met all the stringent requirements set by the commission for establishing the new academic offerings.
