NYSC Releases Call-Up Letters for 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II Prospective Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially released the call-up letters for prospective corps members in the 2026 Batch 'A' Stream II, marking a crucial step in the mobilisation process for thousands of graduates across Nigeria. The call-up numbers and detailed deployment information were uploaded to the NYSC portal yesterday, following the recent publication of the orientation timetable.

Portal Activation and Access Challenges

Confirmations from prospective corps members indicate that the portal became active in the early hours, though many users reported significant difficulties accessing it due to overwhelming traffic. This surge in activity highlights the high anticipation among graduates eager to begin their mandatory national service. The release comes just days after NYSC announced the comprehensive timetable for the upcoming orientation exercise, setting the stage for the final phase of mobilisation.

Orientation Schedule and Safety Advisory

According to a statement signed by NYSC spokesperson Caroline Embu, the orientation course is scheduled to commence with reception and registration on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, and will conclude at midnight on Friday, April 24, 2026. The swearing-in ceremony is set for April 24, with the full orientation exercise running until May 12. In a bid to ensure the safety of all participants, NYSC has issued a strong advisory against night journeys, urging prospective corps members to break their trips once it reaches 6:00 p.m. and resume travel the following morning.

Special Arrangements for Enugu and Osun States

Meanwhile, NYSC has announced a slight adjustment in the orientation schedule for prospective corps members deployed to Enugu and Osun states. Due to ongoing extensive renovations at the camps by the state governments, the orientation exercise in these states will begin on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and end on Monday, May 18, 2026—one week after their counterparts in the other 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) commence their activities. In her statement, NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, emphasised that the orientation for all other states and the FCT will start as planned on April 22 and conclude on May 12, 2026. She urged affected individuals to note these differing dates and comply accordingly to avoid any disruptions.

This development underscores NYSC's commitment to a smooth and safe mobilisation process as graduates prepare to embark on their national service, contributing to community development and national unity.
