Founder of the MAAUN Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has expressed profound sorrow and deep shock following the passing of the revered Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.
A Great Loss to the Muslim Ummah
In a heartfelt condolence message released to the media in Kano on Friday, 29th November 2025, Prof. Gwarzo described the death as a significant loss. He stated that the demise of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, who passed away on Thursday, 27th November 2025, is not only a blow to his immediate family but also to the entire Muslim Ummah and Nigeria as a nation.
Prof. Gwarzo eulogized the late cleric as a respected and great Islamic scholar who dedicated his entire life to teaching and preaching the religion. He emphasized that the scholar's impact and memory will endure among his followers across Nigeria and the wider African continent.
A Legacy of Peace and Scholarship
The university founder highlighted the core values that Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi embodied throughout his life. Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was an epitome of peace and scholarship, Prof. Gwarzo said, noting that the cleric was a consistent advocate for peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and unity among all people, wherever his work took him.
Extending his official condolences, Prof. Gwarzo stated, On behalf of the MAAUN Group of Universities, I wish to extend our condolences to the family of the deceased and his followers in Nigeria and beyond.
Prayers for Forgiveness and Fortitude
Prof. Gwarzo also directed his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Bauchi State, who have lost a prominent son. He offered prayers to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
He further prayed that God would grant the scholar's family, especially his four wives, many children, and grandchildren, the fortitude to bear the immense loss. According to the news, the esteemed Islamic scholar has since been buried in his hometown of Bauchi, according to Islamic rites.
