A Nigerian professor, Methuselah Jeremiah of Kaduna State University, celebrated as his 26-year-old daughter, Uzzibi, successfully completed her PhD program at Babcock University. The proud father shared photos from her thesis defense on LinkedIn, congratulating her on the achievement. Uzzibi had earlier revealed that she earned her doctorate 11 years after first dreaming about it at age 15.
Professor Celebrates Daughter's Academic Milestone
On his LinkedIn page, Professor Methuselah Jeremiah expressed joy over his daughter's successful viva voce, which took place on May 22, 2026. He wrote: 'Celebrating our daughter, Uzzibi's, successful PhD viva voce in Babcock University, today, 22/05/2026. Congratulations, Uzzibi!!!'
Uzzibi shared her inspiring journey in a LinkedIn post, stating: 'At 15, I Dreamed It. At 26, I Did It. Today, I completed the earliest long-term goal I can remember setting for myself. I defended my PhD thesis titled “Boko Haram Deradicalization and Human Security in Northeast Nigeria” and was declared a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science with a specialization in Defense and Strategic Studies.'
She recalled setting the goal after finishing her WAEC exams at 15, and after years of hard work, she achieved it at 26.
