A young Nigerian student's moment of academic achievement turned into unimaginable tragedy when she lost her mother in a fatal accident just one hour after her matriculation ceremony at the University of Delta in Agbor.

The student, who shared her story on TikTok under the username @prettyro14, posted what would become the final photograph with her mother. The image was taken during her matriculation ceremony on November 14th, capturing a proud mother celebrating her daughter's educational milestone at the University of Delta, Agbor.
"My matriculation day. This day November 14th. And my mum was very proud of me," the heartbroken student wrote in her viral post. "She just disappeared in an hour. Didn't even think about my happiness. That was the last day I saw my mum in this scary world."
The Tragic Accident
According to the student's emotional account, her mother and three sisters had just left the university campus after the ceremony when tragedy struck. Just one hour after the matriculation, the student received a devastating phone call from a stranger informing her that her family had been involved in a serious accident.
"This my mom after leaving the school happily after one hour I got a call from a stranger that my mom and my 3 sisters had an accident," she explained. "It was serious I lost my mom, my sisters are in a bad condition which I can't even explain with the pains and everything, still can't believe mom is gone."
Overwhelming Grief and Social Media Support
The grieving student initially blamed herself for the tragedy, expressing deep guilt about her family's attendance at the ceremony. "At first I was thinking it was my fault I shouldn't have let them come if I knew this will happen," she shared. "Guys am scared, speechless and heartbroken. May her soul rest in peace, amen. I love you mom you will always be my best mom."
