UI Computer Science Grad Gets Two Faculty Awards

Lanre Akintayo, a computer science graduate from the University of Ibadan, has proudly displayed the awards he received from the Faculty of Computing. Lanre, who completed his studies in the Department of Computer Science a few months ago, works as a full-stack web3 developer and was previously a Dean's Roll of Honour awardee during his undergraduate years.

In a LinkedIn post from January, Lanre expressed his deep gratitude for being recognized by the Faculty of Computing with two distinct awards: Most Academically Inclined Finalist (Male) and Most Outstanding in Academics. He shared a photo of the two certificates he received and conveyed his appreciation for the honor from his former faculty.

Lanre wrote: "It's one thing to write smart contracts, it's another thing to be recognized as that 'smart' student. I'm deeply honored to share that I was recognized in the Faculty of Computing, University of Ibadan as the Most Academically Inclined Finalist (Male) and Most Outstanding in Academics (One out of Five Outstanding Persons). I've always been a proponent of balance. While building in tech is a priority, I believe academic rigor offers a unique kind of discipline that shouldn't be overlooked. I'm really grateful for the recognition and the journey."
