UNILAG Formally Admits 7,615 Postgraduate Students for 2025/2026 Session

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially matriculated a total of 7,615 postgraduate students for the 2025/2026 academic session. The matriculation ceremony, which took place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Nurudeen Alao Auditorium within the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) on campus, marked a significant milestone in the university's academic calendar.

Vice-Chancellor Emphasizes Transformative Nature of Postgraduate Studies

During the event, the Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, addressed the newly admitted students, congratulating them on their achievement. Professor Ogunsola explained that postgraduate education at UNILAG extends far beyond the mere acquisition of certificates. She highlighted that the core of postgraduate training involves developing critical research skills, gaining profound knowledge, and cultivating a mindset geared towards solving real-world problems.
