A student who requested anonymity described how what began as a minor disagreement quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. "It started as a misunderstanding but later turned into a fight between the two," the source revealed, highlighting how quickly the situation deteriorated from verbal disagreement to physical violence.

The Niger State Police Command spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the tragic incident and provided additional details. He stated that on April 5, 2026, at approximately 1:40 a.m., police at 'A' Division Kontagora received a report about the altercation that occurred during the party organized for newly admitted students.
"In the course of the fight, Jafar Musa stabbed the student with a dagger," Abiodun explained. "The victim was rushed to the General Hospital, Kontagora, where he was confirmed dead. The suspect has been arrested and is currently under investigation."
