Adeboye Praises Odesola at 70, Launches Two Books

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has described the spouse of the Continental 3 Overseer, Pastor Rachael Odesola, as a devoted servant of God whose life reflects diligence, courage, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the Christian faith. Adeboye gave this commendation at Odesola’s 70th birthday celebration held at the RCCG Dominion Cathedral, Continental 3 Headquarters, Gowon Estate, Ipaja, Lagos.

Odesola Charges Parents on Godly Upbringing

Speaking at the celebration, Odesola charged mothers and parents to be deliberate in the upbringing of their children, saying children are God’s heritage and must be properly guided to fulfill their purposes in life. Stressing the need to catch them young and guide them in the way of the Lord, she urged mothers to embrace their responsibilities as caregivers and spiritual nurturers. She said: “Parents should pray and guide their children in the right path, so they can fulfill destiny.”

Launch of Two Books

The celebration also featured the launch of two books written by Odesola. The books are Mothers On Assignment: Guardians of General Purpose, foreworded by Pastor Folu Adeboye, and The Assignment: A Memoir on the Life of Rachael Adebisi Odesola, which chronicles her journey from a Muslim background to a consecrated Christian missioner.

Adeboye’s Congratulatory Message

In his congratulatory message, Adeboye said the essence of life lies in living for God and investing one’s years in the service of Jesus Christ for eternal rewards. He said Odesola had exemplified a life of dedication to God’s kingdom and prayed that God would grant her many more fruitful years in service.

Reflections and Gratitude

Reflecting on her life, Odesola expressed gratitude to God for preserving her through persecution following her conversion from Islam to Christianity and for sustaining her family in ministry across different parts of Nigeria and Zambia. Her husband, Pastor Funso Odesola, described her as a trusted companion, prayer partner, and fellow labourer in God’s vineyard, whose presence has brought peace, comfort, and joy to his life.
