Christ Our Eternal Prophet, Prince, and Priest: A Call to Surrender

Jesus Christ stands as the eternal Prophet and Priest, ordained by God the Father with supreme majesty. He desires to reign without rival in every believer's heart, family, and church, opposing the influence of Satan, society, self, and unbelievers. Therefore, we must grant Him complete liberty to rule over us in all aspects of life.

Christ the Prophet

God promised to raise up a Prophet from among the children of Israel, putting His words in His mouth. Those who reject Christ's words are false prophets, preachers, and pastors. As believers, we are called to accept, believe, and submit to Christ, allowing His word to be written on our hearts. Confirming and affirming His word grants us the blessedness of eternal life. Christ is the Prince of Peace, bringing inner peace and reconciling us to God through His crucifixion. Being justified by faith, we have peace with God. He unites Jews and Gentiles, opposing divisions among peoples, religions, and tribes. He will also bring peace during His millennial reign.

God commands us to hear Christ in all things He says. We must not hold any doctrine, idea, or message contrary to His word. Refusal to obey brings judgment: every soul that will not hear that Prophet shall be destroyed from among the people. In Christ's day, religious leaders rejected Him despite His teachings and miracles, blocking their minds and closing their ears. The Pharisees refused to accept the healing of the man born blind, interrogating his parents out of fear. As believers, Christ has given us gifts and a commission to preach repentance for salvation. Yet many disobey due to fear. If we fail to occupy until He comes, we disobey Christ's words. Those who refuse His reign are His enemies and will face final judgment.

Christ the Priest

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Redeeming Priest, faithful and final Mediator. He does the Father's will, as God promised to raise up a faithful priest who would act according to His heart and mind. Ordained by the Father, Christ makes reconciliation for everyone. As the High Priest of our profession, He forgives sins through His shed blood, which serves as our propitiation before God. Professing Christ as Lord demands that we yield our hearts and lives to His authority, recognizing Him as Sovereign ruler. When tempted to prioritize our will over Scripture, we must resist and steadfastly hold fast to our profession. He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, not merely those who pay lip service or follow their own desires.

Christ is at the right hand of God, making intercession for us. Having been sacrificed, He purges, purifies, and perfects us. As Prophet, He makes us prophets; as Prince, He makes us princes; as High Priest, He makes us priests. He transforms our lives, giving us new and eternal life. As new creatures, He sets a standard for living. He heals our souls, mends broken hearts, and restores our bodies, empowering us to live righteously. All that remains is for us to surrender and submit to Christ our Prophet, Prince, and Priest, who reveals, reigns, and redeems. This surrender should be evident in our lives, drawing others into the Kingdom.
