MODE MEN At 20: Milestone in African Men's Lifestyle Media

For more than two decades, MODE MEN, Nigeria's premier men's lifestyle magazine, has remained a defining voice in African men's lifestyle, influencing conversations around fashion, culture, leadership, business, and contemporary masculinity. As the iconic lifestyle publication recently marked its 20th anniversary, it was not merely a celebration of longevity but a reaffirmation of its position as one of Nigeria's most influential lifestyle media platforms.

BlackNight20: A Night of Elegance and Culture

The milestone celebration reached a memorable high point with the Lagos edition of BlackNight20, MODE MEN's flagship anniversary event, which delivered an evening of elegance, culture, and meaningful engagement. Held at The Wheatbaker in Victoria Island, Lagos, the exclusive gathering followed an earlier successful edition in Abuja, continuing the anniversary trilogy with a refined showcase of style, sophistication, and cultural relevance ahead of its global finale.

Distinguished Guests and Performances

Chaired by former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dakuku Peterside, the Lagos edition convened about 80 distinguished guests drawn from Nigeria's business, fashion, media, governance, and entertainment sectors, reinforcing the lifestyle publication's longstanding influence among key decision-makers and cultural tastemakers. The event was hosted by Frank Edoho and Stella Damasus.

Adding texture to the evening were live performances by D'win, a Lagos-based singer-songwriter, composer, and poet, and Nova Rei, a fast-rising contemporary musician known for her introspective, genre-blending sound that fuses alternative R&B, electronic textures, and pop elements. Their carefully curated sets complemented the sophisticated atmosphere of the celebration.

Among notable guests in attendance were Iyanya, Eyinna Nwigwe, and Noble Igwe, alongside respected figures from Nigeria's creative, business, and social ecosystem. Guests also received curated luxury gift packages featuring premium products from Dove and TheShankstar, alongside copies of Scattered Minds, reflecting MODE MEN's enduring commitment to wellness, self-development, and social consciousness.

Global Expansion and Future Plans

The anniversary celebration culminated in London on May 2, bringing the trilogy to an international close and symbolising MODE MEN's expanding global footprint. As part of its next phase of growth, the lifestyle magazine also announced a strategic expansion into media production, public relations, and brand communications consulting, a move that reflects its growing role as a curator of culture and influence.
