Poised to explore defining moments where individuals step into purpose often through uncertainty, faith, and personal transformation, a new podcast, Open Spaces, has been launched to address this need. Led by entertainment journalist Kachi Offiah, the podcast is a reflective platform that documents the emotional, spiritual, and creative journey of becoming.
It features honest, thought-provoking conversations with notable voices across culture, film, media, and faith—individuals who have navigated transition, redefined identity, and stepped into purpose with intention.
The Vision Behind Open Spaces
According to Offiah, “Open Spaces was created to document the moments in our lives when everything shifts, when we leave behind what is familiar and step into who we are becoming. It is about clarity, courage, and the willingness to trust the process of growth.”
Produced by Kavitah, Nigeria, the series blends storytelling with introspection, creating a calm and intentional space for conversations that are both deeply personal and widely relatable. Offiah noted that having gone through a situation that has led many people into depression, leading to exploring vices to live their new reality, she instead turned to God for answers.
Not a Celebrity Podcast
Speaking on the guests expected on the show, she said: “I am not looking for celebrities; I’ve done entertainment journalism for eight years, interviewed several celebrities around the world but this is not Kachi the entertainment presenter or the Red-Carpet Girl, this is simply Kachi. The people I am bringing to this podcast are regular people. I will interview celebrities but the podcast is not created to focus on celebrity, it’s not a gossip podcast.”
She emphasized her emotional state while filming: “I always feel like crying every time I film for an episode, I felt like I was struggling with myself and that I needed to be myself. I feel this podcast is helping me to discover who I am, every episode is different; some are funny, some are emotional and some educative. I’m enjoying the process.”
Finding Its Audience
While acknowledging that the podcast space is saturated, Offiah said it still hasn’t reached everybody. “There are different concepts and types of podcasts. I think there is a niche of people that need to hear what I have to say. I want popularity and wealth but my goal is to make this podcast get to everyone, to show that they are seen, heard and don’t need to make the same mistake that I made. The podcast will find its people and its people will find the podcast.”
