Pastor Ituah Ighodalo at 65: A Legacy of Faith and Service

In Pentecostal circles and beyond, Pastor Ituah Olajide Ighodalo is a well-known figure, celebrated for his multifaceted contributions to spirituality, profession, and society. As he marks his 65th birthday, this tribute delves into his remarkable life journey, from his early days in Ibadan to his current role as Senior Pastor of Trinity House in Lagos.

Early Life and Educational Foundation

Born on April 6, 1961, in Ibadan to Pa Jeremiah Ighodalo and Mrs Folayegbe Akintunde-Ighodalo, Pastor Ituah was raised in a family that valued excellence. His father, an alumnus of Baptist Academy in Lagos, was a respected opinion leader in the Ewohimi community of Edo State, while his mother made history as Nigeria's first female permanent secretary in the Civil Service, having studied at Queens College, Lagos, and the United Missionary College in Ibadan.

This emphasis on quality education shaped Pastor Ituah's formative years. He attended Maryhill Convent School in Ibadan for primary education, where the Roman Catholic system instilled values like self-discipline, integrity, and resilience. These attributes, common among beneficiaries of such education in the 1960s and 1970s, laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors.

Academic and Professional Ascendancy

For secondary education, Pastor Ituah broke from local norms by gaining admission to Kings College in Lagos, rather than the more common choice of Government College Ibadan. At Kings College, he shared classrooms with notable figures such as His Royal Majesty Muhammadu Sanusi II, the 16th Emir of Kano, and Major-General Reuben Ndubuisi Nkado (Rtd.), reflecting the institution's role in nurturing accomplished individuals.

He later pursued his Advanced Levels at the International School, University of Ibadan, before heading to the University of Hull in England, where he earned a combined honours degree in Economics and Accounting in 1982. Notably, he was the only sibling not to attend the University of Ibadan, showcasing his unique path.

Professionally, Pastor Ituah began his career at Pricewater House and founded Ighodalo & Co. in 1987. In 2004, his firm merged with others to form SIAO, a leading accounting firm offering audit, tax, and advisory services. He holds fellowships in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation, among other professional bodies.

Spiritual Leadership and Philanthropic Impact

As Senior Pastor of Trinity House in Lagos, Pastor Ituah seamlessly integrates his spiritual, professional, and social roles. Until recently, he also served as Managing Partner of SIAO, demonstrating his ability to balance multiple responsibilities. His social engagements include roles like immediate past Vice President of the Kings College Old Boys Association, where he contributes actively.

Pastor Ituah's philanthropic nature is a defining trait. He is known for his self-effacing generosity, often attending to people's needs late into the night and officiating services early the next morning. His belief in holistic ministry, inspired by Jesus Christ, emphasizes feeding people spiritually, physically, and financially, as reflected in his actions and teachings.

Despite his busy schedule, he authors the devotional 'Believe and Command the Mornings,' which has blessed millions of readers with its insights over the years.

Resilience and Future Legacy

Pastor Ituah has shown remarkable resilience, particularly following the unexpected passing of his former wife, Ibidunni, about six years ago. His ability to recover and continue serving highlights the strength derived from his faith and the Holy Spirit's presence in his life.

As he celebrates this milestone, Pastor Ituah is encouraged to invest in raising other leaders who can carry forward his legacy of adding value to humanity. His life serves as an inspiration, much like biblical figures David and Apostle Paul, who served their generations faithfully.

Happy Birthday to God's General, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, a true blessing to humanity in spirit, soul, and body.
