Controversial Bronze Statue of Trump and Epstein Erected in Washington DC
A new bronze statue has been installed in Washington DC, depicting former US President Donald Trump and the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a pose reminiscent of the iconic Titanic moment. The statue, titled "King of the World," shows Trump holding Epstein with arms outstretched, recreating the romantic embrace between Jack and Rose from the film.
Statue Details and Installation
The statue was erected by a group called the Secret Handshake and is located near the US Capitol. It includes a plaque that reads: "The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties and secret nude sketches. This monument honours the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein." This installation aims to symbolize the close relationship the two men reportedly shared.
Previous Controversial Replica
In January, the same group installed a ten-foot-tall replica of what they claim is Trump's "birthday message" to Epstein. The replica features a letter with Trump's signature and text inside the outline of a naked woman, including messages such as, "We have certain things in common, Jeffrey… a pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret." Trump has denied writing or signing this note.
Denials and Public Response
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated, "As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it," when the message first surfaced last year. Trump has consistently denied any knowledge of Epstein's crimes during their social interactions and any wrongdoing related to their friendship. The statue has sparked public furore, reigniting debates about their association.
The installation serves as a provocative statement on the controversial ties between Trump and Epstein, drawing attention through its artistic and symbolic representation in the nation's capital.
