The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy (FMACTCE) has been recognised with a prestigious national award for its strides in digital innovation. The ministry received the GO-LIVE Excellence Award from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) on December 19, 2025.
A Celebration of Digital Achievement
The award was presented during a formal ceremony that brought together key stakeholders from across the Federal Civil Service. It specifically honours the ministry's successful completion and full activation of an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system across all its departments. This digital platform is a cornerstone of the government's broader agenda to modernise public service operations.
Representing the ministry at the event, the Permanent Secretary of FMACTCE, Dr. Mukhtar Yawale Muhammad, expressed profound delight at the recognition. In his remarks, he highlighted that the achievement was a collective triumph. He extended appreciation to the entire management and staff for their unwavering support, cooperation, and understanding throughout the complex implementation phase.
"The credit should go to the entire workforce of the Ministry," Dr. Muhammad stated, while giving special commendation to the ICT Department for its demonstrated commitment and high level of professionalism.
High-Level Endorsement and Collaboration
The award ceremony followed the formal launch of the ECM system, a significant event graced by top government officials. The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, officiated the launch alongside the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa.
Mrs. Walson-Jack commended FMACTCE for its proactive approach and dedication, which she said were crucial in driving the Federal Government's digital transformation agenda forward. In her response, Minister Musawa reassured the Head of Service of the ministry's continued willingness and readiness to collaborate in advancing the efficiency and digitisation of the Federal Civil Service.
A Call for Ownership and Full Utilisation
During the launch event, Permanent Secretary Dr. Mukhtar Yawale Muhammad delivered a welcome address urging staff to fully embrace the new technological tool. He called for the entrenchment of the ECM system into the daily work ethics of every ministry employee.
"I urge every one of us to embrace this new tool with enthusiasm and a sense of ownership," he said. "Let us utilise it to its fullest potential to support the Minister’s vision and contribute to the legacy of a digitised civil service as championed by the Head of Service."
The successful launch and subsequent award, as detailed in a press release signed by Chindaya Ahmadu, Director of Information and Public Relations for the ministry, underscore a significant milestone. The event was also attended by other dignitaries including the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties Office, Dr. Abdulkarim Ibrahim Ozy, solidifying the cross-governmental support for this digital leap.
