In a significant continental recognition, a leading Nigerian media entrepreneur and advocate has been honored for her transformative work. Chief (Mrs) Osasu Igbinedion Ogwuche, the Founder of TOS Foundation Africa and CEO of the TOS Group of Companies, has been named among Africa’s 100 Most Impactful People for 2025 by Ranks Africa.

A Champion for Women in Politics

This prestigious accolade highlights Ogwuche's growing influence in promoting inclusive governance, civic participation, and sustainable development across Nigeria and the continent. Over the past year, her leadership has been pivotal in advancing the Reserved Seats for Women Bill, a crucial legislative proposal aimed at boosting female representation in Nigeria's political landscape.

As the convener of the national advocacy coalition supporting the bill, she successfully elevated the issue from a parliamentary discussion to a major national conversation. Her efforts garnered cross-party support from lawmakers, as well as backing from traditional and religious leaders, underscoring the broad-based appeal of her campaign for a more representative democracy.

"Inclusive governance is not about charity; it is about building institutions that reflect the people they serve," Ogwuche stated. "When women are represented, public trust grows and democracy becomes stronger."

Bridging Health, Development, and Accountability

Ogwuche's impact extends beyond the political arena into critical social and economic spheres. Through the Shift the Needle Campaign, she has championed state-level advocacy for increased domestic funding for family planning and reproductive health services. This initiative, supported by a practical toolkit designed for First Ladies of Nigerian states, frames reproductive health as a cornerstone of maternal survival, girls' education, and overall economic productivity.

"Family planning is not only a health issue; it is a development issue that requires consistent political leadership," she emphasized.

Her commitment to transparent governance is materialized in 469Tracker, a civic technology platform developed with support from TOS Foundation Africa. This innovative tool tracks the performance of elected officials and promotes legislative transparency, empowering citizens with the information needed to hold their leaders accountable.

"Accountability thrives when citizens have access to clear, reliable information about those elected to represent them," Ogwuche noted regarding the platform's mission.

Fostering National Dialogue for Inclusive Growth

Further amplifying her work is the annual TOS Symposium, a key forum convened by Ogwuche. The symposium brings together policymakers, civil society leaders, development partners, and youth to critically examine Nigeria's demographic challenges and policy pathways toward inclusive growth. A recurring theme is the necessity of evidence-based decision-making and long-term collaborative strategies for national development.

By securing a spot on the Africa’s 100 Most Impactful People for 2025 list, Chief Osasu Igbinedion Ogwuche joins an elite group of Africans whose visionary work is actively shaping policies, institutions, and social outcomes across governance, business, and civil society. This recognition solidifies her status as a formidable force driving meaningful change in Nigeria and beyond.
