The Prudent Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. (PW-MPCS) is set to mark a significant milestone with the unveiling of '100 Prudent Women: A Compendium of the Most Inspiring Biographies' on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
A Grand Celebration and New Foundation
The book presentation will be a central part of the cooperative's 5th Anniversary Grand Celebration, taking place at the Abuja Continental Hotel. This event will also serve as the formal launch of the Prudent Women Advancement and Advocacy Foundation (PWAAF), signaling a strategic expansion of the organization's mission.
Mrs. Msurshima Comfort Chenge, the President and Founder of the Prudent Women Cooperative and Convener of PWAAF, emphasized that the occasion is far more than a simple book launch. She described it as a 'national mentorship compact' designed to unite integrity, excellence, and impact to help young women rise, supported by real-life examples and measurable community outcomes.
From a Small Circle to a National Network
The 5th anniversary celebrates a remarkable five-year journey of transformation. What began as a small circle of women has blossomed into a dynamic network of over 7,000 members across Nigeria and the diaspora. These women are united by shared values of faith, financial discipline, and a commitment to positive change.
The compendium itself is a tribute to this growth, profiling 100 exceptional women from diverse fields including public service, diplomacy, law, engineering, industry, academia, development, faith leadership, arts, and sport. The goal is to preserve their legacies of strength, integrity, and purpose, offering tangible role models for future generations.
Launching a Year-Long National Mentorship Drive
A major component of the new phase is the flag-off of a structured 12-month mentorship and community activation programme, which will run from December 2025 to November 2026. This initiative will mobilize the expertise of the 100 honourees featured in the compendium to mentor girls and empower communities nationwide.
Mrs. Chenge explained that this next phase transitions the group from a savings-based cooperative to a robust advocacy and mentorship platform. The focus will be on addressing women's financial, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. 'By establishing mentorship chapters nationwide, Prudent Women aims to build a holistic ecosystem that nurtures the 'Total Woman',' she stated.
From December 2025, PWAAF will coordinate a comprehensive suite of activities, including:
- A structured mentorship pipeline
- School and community clubs
- Leadership and life-skills sessions
- GBV awareness and referral linkages
- Digital and financial literacy modules
- Micro-projects led by girls
Project Director, Robert Ahen Chenge, underscored the practical focus of the initiative: 'We are moving beyond inspiration to implementation. These 100 stories become 100 living classrooms, taking mentorship, protection, and opportunity to real communities.'
This national effort will engage a wide range of institutions and leaders whose mandates intersect with women's empowerment, education, health, justice, youth development, and community security.
