Innocent '2Baba' Idibia has denied rumours of reconciliation with his ex-wife, actress Annie Macaulay, just a day after she dismissed similar claims. The singer took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday to address the speculation, confirming that a viral video circulating on social media was not recent.
2Baba's Denial
In his post, 2Baba wrote, 'Abeg na old video,' effectively dispelling rumours that the couple had rekindled their relationship. The 50-year-old music icon's statement aligns with Annie's earlier denial, in which she described the viral footage as false and misleading.
Annie, 41, had earlier dismissed the video on her Snapchat, writing, 'Old videos circulating everywhere. False news everywhere. Lies, lies, lies and more lies. Annie is single. Not going back anywhere. I do not live there anymore!!! All that concerns me are my two brilliant, beautiful daughters!!!! My career.'
Background of Their Relationship
2Baba and Annie shared a relationship that spanned over 20 years. They held their traditional marriage ceremony in February 2013, followed by a white wedding in Dubai the following month. The couple has two daughters, Isabella and Olivia.
In January 2025, 2Baba announced that they had ended their marriage and commenced divorce proceedings, confirming months of speculation surrounding their relationship. Following the separation, the singer publicly introduced Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru as his new partner in February 2025. They held their traditional wedding in July 2025 and welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, in November 2025.
Impact and Public Reaction
With both 2Baba and Annie confirming that the circulating footage is dated, they have effectively dispelled rumours suggesting a reconciliation. The swift denials from both parties indicate a desire to move on from their past relationship and focus on their individual lives and careers.
