Bukky Wright Reveals the Personal Reason Behind Her Departure from Nigeria
Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has finally shared the personal reason she left Nigeria and stepped away from the movie industry years ago. In a candid interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown on her television show, Wright disclosed that her decision was driven by her children. She stated, 'I left this country many years ago because of my children, and I will do it over and over again if I had to.'
An Apology to Fans Who Felt Abandoned
The actress also took the opportunity to apologize to her fans and supporters who felt abandoned by her sudden departure. 'At this point, I think I have to apologise. I am so sorry I left you guys without letting you know. Mama duty called,' she added. Wright emphasized that motherhood came before her successful career, and she stands by her choice.
Quiet Return to the Big Screen
Contrary to assumptions that Wright had completely moved on from acting, the veteran actress revealed that she had been quietly working on a new project. Her first cinema movie, titled Omatara Johnson, was inspired by fans who continued asking to see her on screen. Wright explained that she deliberately kept the project private because she has learnt that some things manifest better when kept close to the heart. 'I didn’t tell people I was coming back,' she said.
Public Reactions to the Interview
The interview sparked reactions from social media users. @Ayomide__koya commented, 'She's still as beautiful,' while @SauceKiki noted, 'She choose family. No explanation needed.' Many fans expressed their support for her decision to prioritize her children.
