Danielle Edochie, the daughter of renowned Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has publicly declared her stance on relationships with internet fraudsters.
Clear Stance Against Internet Fraudsters
In a video shared online, Danielle made it clear that she would never willingly be in a relationship with a 'Yahoo boy' despite the huge amounts of money some of them make. 'I love money but I wouldn't want to be with someone whose lifestyle is built around stealing from other people,' she said.
She also questioned why some people are surprised when she says she is not attracted to men involved in internet fraud, stressing that she would rather stay away from such individuals regardless of their financial status.
Context of the Term 'Yahoo Boy'
'Yahoo boy' is a term commonly used in Nigeria to refer to individuals who engage in internet fraud, often through phishing, romance scams, or other online schemes. The term originates from the early 2000s when many such scams were associated with Yahoo email accounts. Danielle's statement reflects a growing sentiment among young Nigerians who prioritize ethical behavior over ill-gotten wealth.
