Ossai Ovie Success, an aide to the Delta State governor, has publicly criticized Nigerian singer Davido for failing to attend the wedding of his friend and music executive, Soso Soberekon. In a social media post on Monday morning, Success expressed deep disappointment, accusing Davido of ingratitude and disloyalty.

According to the aide, Soso was instrumental in introducing Davido to the international music community and also promoted him locally. "The fact is, Soso Soberekon has done so much for Davido in the last few years. Soso brought Davido to the international community and even promoted him locally," Success wrote.
Loyalty and Gratitude Questioned
The governor's aide emphasized that loyalty must be mutual. He stated that missing a wedding after all the support Soso provided feels like a slap in the face. "Loyalty goes both ways. And this was the moment to show it. One of the most paramount moments in any man’s life is his wedding. To miss that day after everything Soso has done feels like a slap in the face," Success added.
Success further expressed that he expected better from the celebrity couple. "I expected better. I expected gratitude. I expected presence. Soso showed up for Davido, Davido didn’t show up for Soso. That’s not loyalty. That’s not gratitude," the post continued.

According to Success, weddings are once-in-a-lifetime events that require true friends to attend. He argued that the absence sends a negative message about success and remembrance. "Weddings are once in a lifetime. You either show up for your people, or you don’t. And on this one, he didn’t. It’s not about the money, the fame, or the busy schedule. It’s about honoring the people who honored you when nobody was watching," he stated.
The aide concluded by saying that missing the wedding implies that success makes one forget the people who helped them rise. "Missing a wedding like that sends the wrong message: That success makes you forget the people who helped you rise. I am really disappointed that Davido missed out on being there," Success lamented.
