Delta State-born entertainer, comedian, skit maker, and digital content creator Ernest Tedjeye Oruese, popularly known as HK Chairman, has called on Nigerian youths to shun hard drugs, internet fraud, violence, and the growing obsession with getting rich through illegal or dubious means. He said his advocacy against drug abuse, cybercrime, and youth violence aligns with ongoing national efforts aimed at promoting responsible citizenship and empowering young people through creative and productive ventures.
Call for Positive Change
Speaking in Asaba, Delta State, the 30-year-old entertainer expressed concern over what he described as the rising wave of negative influences affecting young people across the country. He urged Nigerian youths to embrace creativity, discipline, patience, and legitimate means of livelihood as pathways to sustainable success. According to him, the future of the nation depends largely on the choices made by its younger generation, stressing that genuine success requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance rather than shortcuts that often lead to personal and societal destruction.
Using Influence for Good
HK Chairman, who has gained recognition in Nigeria’s entertainment industry through his distinctive comedy style and engaging online content, said he has deliberately used his growing social media influence to promote positive values and inspire young Nigerians. Beyond entertainment, he noted that his content is designed to encourage responsible behaviour, self-development, and entrepreneurship among youths, while discouraging involvement in criminal activities and social vices. The entertainer, also known in digital circles as “Diamonddc,” disclosed that he has built a steadily growing fan base across several social media platforms through consistent content creation and audience engagement.
Proud Heritage and Rise to Fame
Proudly identifying with his Urhobo heritage, HK Chairman said he hails from Okpare-Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, with maternal roots in Okpara Waterside, Ethiope East Local Government Area. He expressed pride in his cultural identity, describing it as an important part of his personal and professional journey. Recounting his rise in the entertainment industry, he said he officially ventured into comedy and digital content creation in 2022, beginning his career in Warri before gradually expanding his reach through various online platforms. His comedy brand, characterised by expressive facial reactions, relatable street humour, and depictions of everyday life experiences, has earned him growing admiration among young audiences across Nigeria.
Relocation and Growth
In pursuit of broader opportunities and greater visibility, HK Chairman relocated to Lagos in 2024, where he intensified his focus on skit production, online comedy, and strategic collaborations with other content creators. The move, he said, has strengthened his presence in Nigeria’s highly competitive entertainment industry while significantly expanding his audience base nationwide. With a growing profile in the digital media space and a commitment to promoting positive values, HK Chairman and his partner, Pamela Ofuadje, popularly known as Pamela DC, are increasingly being recognised among emerging entertainment personalities from Delta State making notable contributions on the national stage.
