The Viral Facebook Post That Changed Everything
On January 10, 2026, Keturah Stephen made a seemingly lighthearted Facebook post that would alter the course of her life. She wrote: 'My wedding date is supposed to be 16th May 2026, is there a man willing to take the risk? Send a dm let's talk.' The post generated laughter and mockery from many, but one man took it seriously.
Joel Gojeh, who wasn't even Facebook friends with Keturah at the time, saw the post and sent her a direct message. According to Keturah, the two had only two mutual friends, neither of whom they knew personally. Joel later explained that he had just finished praying about his future wife when the post appeared on his timeline, prompting him to reach out.
A Swift Courtship and Engagement
After exchanging messages on Facebook, the pair moved to WhatsApp. Keturah had always told God she wanted a short courtship—no longer than six months. She shared this with Joel, who replied, 'I'll make you believe God.' Joel was based in Ghana but had a ministry engagement in Abuja from February 12–14. On February 15, he traveled to Kaduna to see Keturah, secretly carrying an engagement ring.
During their visit, Joel left the ring in Keturah's kitchen. When she found it, she asked, 'You already know the answer, right?' He smiled and said yes. She handed the ring back and told him to put it on her finger. Their official relationship began on February 16—just over a month after the original Facebook post.
Traditional Marriage Before the Deadline
Before returning to Ghana, Joel promised to start the traditional marriage process. On February 27, less than two weeks into their relationship, he visited Keturah's family with relatives to introduce himself and present traditional gifts. Remarkably, their families already knew each other, which Keturah saw as divine confirmation.
Keturah had expressed a desire to be married before her 35th birthday, which fell around May 16. Joel asked if a traditional marriage would count, and she agreed. On May 9, although Joel was not physically present, his family representatives paid the bride price and conducted the traditional ceremony. Keturah became a married woman before the May 16 deadline she had set.
The Church Wedding and Testimony
The couple completed marriage counseling and held their church wedding on July 26, 2026. Sharing her story on Facebook, Keturah wrote: 'FROM DM TO I DO. As at January this year, I was very, very single. If anyone had told me in January that I would be married before the end of July, I would have smiled politely and said, “God can do anything.” But deep down, I never imagined it would happen so quickly.'
She emphasized that the relationship was built on faith, with the couple studying Scripture together, praying, and submitting to spiritual authority. They underwent three different marriage counseling sessions to ensure wisdom accompanied their love. Keturah credited Joel's character and fear of God for giving her peace and confidence to say yes quickly.
'What looked like an ordinary Facebook post became the beginning of my forever,' she wrote. 'The man who said, “I’m going to make you believe God,” didn’t just become my husband. Through him, God reminded me that He still answers prayers in ways we never expect.'
