A Nigerian makeup artist and friend of Mayowa Lambe, the ex-wife of OAP Roby Ekpo, has stepped forward to defend her amid the ongoing drama surrounding their separation. In a recent interview, Roby portrayed Mayowa as never informing him that their marriage was over, alleging that he continued sending her money while she was already seeing someone else.
Friend's Response
In a post shared on her Instagram page, Jennifer stated that Roby was fully aware that the marriage had ended long ago. She clarified that the money he sent to Mayowa was part of an 'Ajo,' a local savings scheme where participants contribute a fixed amount daily, weekly, or monthly. According to Jennifer, these contributions were used to pay Roby's rent, a practice that had been ongoing since 2018.
Jennifer also addressed the WhatsApp message Roby displayed during the interview, claiming it was sent to another friend in 2017 and was not hidden from Roby. She explained that the person Mayowa was chatting with became concerned that she was about to leave her marriage and alerted her family, which led to a meeting that both Roby and Mayowa attended.
Contradicting Claims
Contrary to Roby's assertion that Mayowa pursued him, Jennifer alleged that Roby was the one who 'like bombed' Mayowa's posts and then sent her his number. She stated that Mayowa paid for their house rent and covered Roby's flight from Calabar to Lagos so he could live with her. Furthermore, Jennifer claimed that both families were aware of the dissolution of their traditional marriage. She also alleged that Roby is battling Hepatitis B.
