The 39-year-old made this confession in a recent interview with The Times, stating, "I've earned more, easily, than my entire acting career within one year."
A Year of OnlyFans Surpasses Decades of Acting
Cave, who launched her OnlyFans page last year, reported earning £15,000 (over $20,000) in just one day. She charges subscribers $6 per month but supplements this with paid messages. The actress described the windfall as transformative, saying the money had "saved" her and her family.
"I thought I'd make five grand, be on it for a few months and it would buy me time to work out what we're going to do," she explained. "But it's now been over a year and a half and it's genuinely saved our lives." Cave revealed she turned to the platform after reaching "a point of complete desperation" due to a scarcity of acting roles.
Financial Pressures and Childcare Costs
The mother of four, who shares her children with longtime partner Alfie Brown, said the high cost of childcare made conventional employment unfeasible. "I couldn't go and, say, work in a supermarket because I can't afford the childcare, and also I don't want people shouting 'Harry Potter' spells at me as I work at Tesco," she quipped.
"I could retrain but I can't afford to do a degree," Cave added. "I had a breakdown and I thought, that's it with acting, I give up. But also we have no money."
Niche Content Focused on Hair
Cave emphasized that her OnlyFans content is strictly hair-focused, occasionally dressing as Lavender Brown for subscribers, but always remaining fully clothed. "My rule is the hair is the main character," she said. "It's literally about hair: the texture of hair. The fetish. It's very, very niche."
The actress also spoke about the personal empowerment she gained from the platform, noting that she had felt invisible after becoming a mother. "For so long I've just been this quirky figure," she said. "After having four kids and feeling invisible for so long that was really appealing to me."
