Actress Judy Austin has broken her silence following allegations made by her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, during his appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast. She defended Yul Edochie, insisting that she met the actor three years after her marriage had already ended.
Judy Austin's Response to Allegations
In a viral video, Judy Austin addressed the claims made by Emmanuel Obasi, who alleged that they were previously married and had two children together. She stated that Yul Edochie has done nothing wrong and urged bloggers and commentators to stop directing insults at him.
“I met him three years after my marriage ended and that is not a crime,” she said. She credited Edochie with providing for her children, including paying school fees and providing housing, responsibilities she accused Obasi of abandoning.
Challenge to Ex-Husband
Judy challenged Obasi to produce evidence, such as court filings or financial records, to support his claims. She noted that he had not pursued legal channels for custody or access, suggesting that going to court would require him to accept financial responsibilities.
“He doesn’t want to go to court because he doesn’t want to pay or foot the responsibilities of being a father,” she said. She also pointed out contradictions in Obasi’s public statements, shifting from claiming they were still married to accusing her of holding the children hostage.
Legal Resolution
Judy closed by stating that the matter would be settled through legal channels. “As for Emmanuel Chukwuobasi, we will meet where we are supposed to meet and the law will grant justice to who deserves it,” she said.
Obasi has not publicly responded to her statement, and Yul Edochie has also remained silent.
