In a dramatic public appeal, media personality Hamzat Kolu, widely known as Kolu Wahala, has begged popular comedian Carter Efe for a substantial loan of ₦7 million. The funds are urgently needed to bail out controversial singer Portable, who remains in police custody.

Kolu made his emotional request during a recent Twitch livestream, creating a viral moment that has captivated Nigerian social media. He explained his motivation stems from a deep sense of debt to the singer, despite their very public fallout in 2025.
Kolu was formerly signed to Portable's Zeh Nation label but left after levelling serious accusations of abuse and neglect against the artist. However, during the stream, he emphasized that Portable was instrumental in his rise to fame. "Portable brought me to Lagos, I come blow. Na him help my life…" Kolu stated, highlighting the singer's role in relocating him from Abuja to Lagos and providing a platform in the entertainment industry.
To demonstrate his commitment, Kolu revealed he had already taken drastic measures. He sold his newly purchased, multimillion-naira car in an attempt to raise the bail money. Unfortunately, the proceeds from the sale were insufficient to meet the required conditions for Portable's release.

The singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, was arrested on January 10, 2026, in Ogun State. The arrest followed a serious altercation at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo. Police authorities have charged him with a series of offences including assaulting his baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple, her sibling, and several police officers.
Additional charges involve the alleged theft of a ₦12 million Mercedes-Benz E300, resisting arrest, and causing bodily harm. A high court in Ota subsequently ordered that he be remanded in custody until January 19. The court denied bail, citing the absence of a key witness—a female police inspector whom Portable is accused of obstructing and assaulting.
