Lady Heartbroken After Visiting Alexx Ekubo's Family Home for Wake-Keep

A Nigerian lady, Precious Chiamaka Okoro, a baby items vendor, has shared a sorrowful post on social media after attending the wake-keep of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo at his family compound in Arochukwu, Abia State. The wake-keep took place on June 17, 2026, as part of the actor's funeral activities.

Funeral Activities Timeline

Alexx Ekubo's funeral began on June 10 with a service of songs at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos. This was followed by a wake-keep at his hometown in Arochukwu on June 16. The lady attended the wake-keep on June 17.

Heartbroken Plea for Resurrection

In a Facebook post on June 17, Precious gave Alexx an ultimatum to resurrect and say his death is a prank. She wrote, "Ikenna, I just left your house where the wake-keeping is going on. You have until 10am to stand up and say this a prank and I swear I'll understand. We won't be mad at you at all bikonu Nwanne'm??? I am weak to my bones."

In the comment section, she lamented that his death pierced her heart, stating, "Ike bobo, I've never had to leave my comfort zone and travel hours to Arochukwu village for anyone's funeral except family members and the last time I buried a corpse that hurt me so much was in 2011 when my kid Sis died. Your death is piercing my heart. You had better stand up from that place by morning."

Public Reactions to Alexx Ekubo's Death

Many social media users reacted to the actor's demise. Tee Stitches commented, "Yes Alexx, we won't get mad at you. Just wake up and say it's a prank biko." Nzube Precious Okafor said, "Amaka Ikenna has gone! He's not coming back to us! It's not a prank! It's just a sad reality we all have to accept." Ugo Chukwu wrote, "Ikenna is gone... Incident at Coffin During Wake-Keep

Earlier, a lady had raised an alarm over a man who touched Alexx Ekubo's coffin. A short clip on Facebook showed an unidentified bald man in black briefly stretching out his right hand to touch the coffin while it was in an ambulance. The lady called on Alexx's family to question the man about his actions.
