Nigerian Senator Ned Nwoko has made a compelling public statement regarding his wife, popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, insisting she must immediately enter a drug rehabilitation facility. The Delta North senator revealed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Multiple Overdose Incidents Prompt Action
Nwoko disclosed alarming details about his wife's condition, stating he had rushed her to Nizamiye Hospital unconscious on three separate occasions over the past eight months due to drug overdoses. The politician expressed deep concern about Regina's changing behavior, noting her previously calm nature has been replaced by angry and destructive tendencies.
"I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children," Nwoko emotionally stated. "We have two young kids together, and they cannot fight for themselves. I'm going to fight for them by safeguarding their mother. Many people have died of drug overdose, and if anything happens to her now, what will I tell her children tomorrow?"
Family Conflict and Allegations of Sabotage
The senator directly addressed the social media denials from Regina's mother and brothers, calling them "false distractions" from the serious health crisis. He challenged them to arrange for independent toxicological testing at any facility of their choice, offering to cover all expenses.
Nwoko also pointed fingers at Regina's siblings, particularly her brother Sammy, accusing them of negatively influencing her and sabotaging recovery efforts. "Her close relations and friends that I trusted around her are the ones exploiting her resources to supply her with drugs, leaving her addicted," he claimed.
The senator emphasized that rehabilitation would provide a controlled environment where Regina could complete therapy without access to drugs, ensuring she can properly raise their children in a healthy setting. This development follows earlier allegations from Regina's camp about physical abuse, highlighting the escalating nature of their marital disputes that have captured national attention.
