Actor Nick Pasqual, best known for his role in the television series How I Met Your Mother, has been sentenced to 32 years to life in prison for the attempted murder of his former girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn. The sentence was delivered on Tuesday, June 2, just weeks after a jury found Pasqual guilty in connection with a violent attack that took place in May 2024.
The Attack
According to prosecutors, Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s home in Sunland during the early morning hours and attacked her with a knife before fleeing toward the U.S.-Mexico border. Authorities reported that Shehorn sustained multiple stab wounds and was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery and extensive medical treatment. She survived the attack but has stated that she continues to suffer from permanent injuries, emotional trauma, and significant medical expenses.
Conviction and Sentence
Pasqual was arrested and later charged. Following a trial, a jury found him guilty of attempted murder, residential burglary, and other offenses related to the attack. The court handed down a sentence of 32 years to life in prison, reflecting the severity of the crime.
Civil Lawsuit
In addition to the criminal case, Shehorn has filed a civil lawsuit against Pasqual. The lawsuit alleges sexual battery, gender-based violence, assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence. It seeks both compensatory and punitive damages for the harm she has endured.
The case has drawn significant attention due to Pasqual's fame from How I Met Your Mother, where he appeared in a guest role. Shehorn continues to advocate for justice and raise awareness about domestic violence.
