American rapper Nicki Minaj has opened up about why she stopped attending church services. In a recent episode of The Bryce Crawford podcast, the Grammy-nominated artist shared that her decision came as her career began to soar.
Weekend Performances Led to Change
Nicki Minaj explained that her busy work schedule, particularly on weekends, made it difficult to attend Sunday services. “Once my career started taking off, I stopped going to church. I was working on Friday nights and Saturday nights, so the last thing I could do was wake up on Sunday mornings to go to church,” she said.
Spiritual Growth Continues
Despite stepping away from regular church attendance, the rapper emphasized that she still maintains a close relationship with God. “I still have a good relationship with God and strive to keep growing spiritually,” she added. She also noted that fame can make church visits distracting, as people often stare, which takes away from the personal connection with God.
The revelation has sparked discussions among fans about balancing faith and a demanding career in the entertainment industry.
