Kanayo O. Kanayo Earns Law Degree at 58

Veteran Nollywood actor Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, returned to school at age 58 to obtain a law degree. He initially earned a degree in Philosophy in 1994 from the University of Lagos but felt unsatisfied as law was his true passion. He also holds a Master's in Political Science. Despite his achievements, he pursued a law degree at the University of Abuja and was called to the bar in 2020.

Afeez Oyetoro (Saka) Obtains PhD at 61

Comic actor Afeez Oyetoro, known as Saka, is both a lecturer and actor. He holds a degree and Master's in Theatre Arts from Obafemi Awolowo University. In his late 50s, he returned to school to earn a PhD, which he completed at age 61. He continues to balance acting and lecturing successfully.

Mr Latin Bags Degree at 59

Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, returned to school later in life. He previously earned a diploma in Film, Performance, and Theatre Studies at Crescent University, Abeokuta. At age 59, he obtained a degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria. He serves as the National President of TAMPAN.

Saheed Osupa Graduates at 54

Fuji musician Saheed Osupa returned to school in his 50s and graduated at 54. He initially earned a National Diploma in Business Administration from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, in 1992. He later studied Political Science at the University of Ibadan, earning a BSc with second-class honours in 2023, fulfilling his mother's wish.

Eucharia Anunobi Earns PhD at 55

Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi pursued higher education later in life. She earned a degree in Mass Communication from IMT Enugu and a bachelor's in English Language from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She later obtained a Master's in Social Work from Lagos State University and a PhD in Theology and Christian Education at age 55.

Helen Paul Becomes Doctor at 36

Stand-up comedienne Helen Paul, also known as Tatafo, earned her PhD in Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos. She dedicated her achievement to her mother, who supported her through difficult circumstances. She is regarded as one of the first Nigerian stand-up comedians to attain a PhD.
