The lawyers emphasized that the claims violate Nigerian defamation laws, the Cybercrimes Act, and the Criminal Code. They demanded an immediate retraction and a public apology from all individuals and platforms responsible for spreading the false information, setting a 48-hour deadline for compliance.
Legal Action Threatened
Officer Woos has authorized his legal team to pursue civil action against those behind the viral story, including claims for damages and formal petitions to law enforcement agencies. The team warned that continued circulation of the allegations would lead to legal consequences.
In a brief post on his Instagram page, Officer Woos wrote: “The claims are entirely false, fabricated, and without basis. This will be handled through the appropriate legal channels. Thank you for your understanding.”
