Nigerian Comedian Reveals Childhood Sexual Abuse Trauma

Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker Oluwadolarz has courageously shared an emotional and painful account of being sexually molested at the tender age of six by a female neighbor. His disclosure has sent shockwaves through the entertainment community and sparked urgent conversations about child protection.

Traumatic Childhood Experience with Aunty Ramota

In a heartfelt video shared online, Oluwadolarz narrated how he was repeatedly abused by a neighbor known as Aunty Ramota whenever he returned from school to the house where he lived with his grandmother. He explained that the abuse occurred over an entire year, during which he was too young to understand what was happening and had no one to confide in.

"When I was 6, yes, I was 6, 5, 6 years old. Then I was living with my grandma, my mum was still in a nursing school then, so I was living with my grandma," Oluwadolarz recounted. "So whenever I come back, Ramota is always at home. She's only the one at home, like she's always at home. And whenever I come back from school, Ramota would take me to the backyard of our house and do all sorts."

Lasting Emotional Scars and Impact

The comedian revealed that the trauma left him with deep emotional scars that affected his trust, relationships, and sexual life well into adulthood. He described the damage as "unforgettable" and "almost unsolvable," with memories that remain vivid even today.

"I'm saying it because I'm beginning to realize that it's something that could have messed up my life. I think he actually did messed up my life. Because it messed up my s£x life, messed up a lot of things about me that I can't even say here," Oluwadolarz confessed.

Timing Amid Simi Controversy

Oluwadolarz's disclosure comes at a sensitive time when Nigerian singer Simi is facing significant backlash over old tweets that many have interpreted as inappropriate comments about children. Simi has since clarified that her past words were misunderstood and reiterated her strong opposition to sexual violence.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has acknowledged the controversy surrounding Simi's tweets but explained that prosecution would require a victim to formally step forward with a complaint.

Urgent Message to Parents

The comedian stated that his primary reason for speaking out was to urge parents to be more vigilant about their children's safety and well-being. He emphasized the importance of creating environments where children feel safe enough to share their experiences.

"Please parents, watch your kids. That's the essence of this video because I'm beginning to realise that it happens to a lot of male children," Oluwadolarz advised, highlighting that sexual abuse affects boys as well as girls.

Other Celebrities Share Similar Experiences

Nigerian media personality Oyemykke has also recently opened up about being repeatedly abused at age four by a thirty-year-old family acquaintance called Aunty Saida. He shared his experience in a video, linking it to the ongoing conversation about child protection in Nigeria.

Oyemykke explained that the abuse began when he was left in the woman's care and continued several times, leaving him with lasting emotional scars that persist to this day.

Broader Implications and Response

The revelations from Oluwadolarz and Oyemykke have sparked important discussions about:

  • The prevalence of childhood sexual abuse in Nigerian communities
  • The need for better child protection mechanisms
  • The importance of creating safe spaces for victims to come forward
  • The long-term psychological impact of childhood trauma
  • The role of celebrities in raising awareness about sensitive issues

As these conversations continue to unfold, many are calling for more comprehensive approaches to child protection, including better education for parents, improved reporting mechanisms, and stronger support systems for survivors of childhood abuse.
