Armed Robbers Invade Late Gospel Singer Taiwo Adegbodu's Residence in Traumatic Post-Death Attack

In a heartbreaking turn of events, the family of the late gospel singer Taiwo Adegbodu has been struck by another tragedy following an alleged armed robbery at his home, just weeks after his sudden death. The incident, which occurred days after Taiwo's burial, has left the family shaken and traumatized, adding to their grief.

Details of the Robbery Attack

The robbery was disclosed in a viral video by Taiwo's surviving twin brother, Kehinde Adegbodu, who narrated how armed men stormed their residence. According to Kehinde, the attackers spent over 45 minutes inside the house, ransacking rooms and demanding specific items. They reportedly asked for Kehinde's whereabouts, Taiwo's room, jewelry, phone, and car keys, while threatening the late singer's widow.

Kehinde explained that he was away in Osogbo when the incident happened. Taiwo's wife called him in distress, her voice trembling as she described the invasion. The robbers allegedly took clothes, cash, and other valuables before leaving. One of the attackers even placed a phone call to someone believed to be their boss, informing them that Kehinde was not at home.

Motivation Behind the Attack

Kehinde suggested that the robbers may have targeted the family under the mistaken belief that substantial donations raised following Taiwo's death were still kept as cash in the house. He clarified that funds, including those reportedly facilitated by gospel maestro Yinka Ayefele, had already been used for building projects connected to Taiwo's burial. Emphasizing that no large amount of money was stored at the residence, Kehinde stated he is ready to make his account balance public to discourage further attacks.

"I think the robbers thought that the money raised for us was still with me. The money raised for us was used to develop our building project so we could bury Taiwo there. I will post my account balance so that these robbers will know there is no money there," he said.

Impact on the Family

The incident has had a severe emotional toll on the family, particularly the children. Kehinde revealed that the kids are now living in fear and are scared to sleep in the house. He appealed to the attackers to stay away, stressing that the family is still mourning and struggling to move on from Taiwo's death.

Taiwo Adegbodu died on March 1 under unclear circumstances and was buried thirty days later. His passing has left a void in the gospel music community, and this recent robbery has compounded the family's pain. Kehinde's account highlights the vulnerability of grieving families to such criminal acts.

In related news, during Taiwo's burial event, his daughter Jomiloju paid an emotional tribute to her late mother, Omije Ojumi, describing her as a strong and virtuous woman. She promised to continue her mother's legacy by caring for her younger brother and guiding him responsibly.
