Single Mother of 4 Rejected from Job Interview Over Age

A Nigerian single mother of four has shared her heartbreaking experience of being rejected from a job interview because of her age. The woman, identified as @wantor837 on TikTok, prepared extensively for the interview but was told she was too old at 34 years old.

Single Mother's Disappointment

She expressed her disappointment in a viral TikTok video, stating: 'I prepared for that interview like my life depended on it. I thought finally I’ll have a good job to make life easy for me and the kids. Went to the market, got my things ready… and I still didn’t get the job. They said 34 was too old.'

The mother of four added that she was broken by the rejection but remained hopeful, quoting Matthew 6:26: 'Look at the birds of the air… your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than them? I may be hurt, but I’m not hopeless. A better door is coming. One that won’t ask me to reduce my age to fit in.'
