Tacha Defends Regina Daniels: "Being a Woman in Nigeria Feels Like a Crime"
Tacha Slams Nigerians Mocking Regina Daniels' Marriage Crisis

Reality television star Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has voiced strong criticism against Nigerians who are mocking Nollywood actress Regina Daniels over her ongoing marital crisis with husband Ned Nwoko.

Celebrity Backlash Against Public Shaming

The former Big Brother Naija contestant expressed deep concern about how the public has responded to Regina Daniels' revelation of traumatic experiences in her marriage. Instead of showing empathy and support, many social media users have focused on criticizing the actress for her previously luxurious lifestyle and public image.

Tacha took to her social media platform to declare that being a woman in Nigeria often feels like a crime, suggesting that society has become desensitized to women's suffering. She questioned why people are quick to shame women who speak out about their struggles, particularly when they appear successful or have enjoyed certain privileges.

Phyna's Warning Against Reconciliation

Meanwhile, another BBNaija alumnus and close friend of Regina Daniels, Phyna, has addressed growing calls for the actress to return to her estranged husband. This comes after a video surfaced online featuring someone advising Regina to reconcile with businessman and politician Ned Nwoko.

Phyna firmly rejected this suggestion, emphasizing that Regina must carefully consider her experiences before making any decisions about the marriage. She hinted that she possesses knowledge about the difficult situations Regina faced before leaving the relationship, indicating that the public only knows a fraction of the full story.

The reality star cautioned that returning to the marriage without thorough consideration could lead to further emotional damage for the young actress.

Police Confirm Brother's Arrest

In related developments, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has officially confirmed the arrest and arraignment of Sammy West, Regina Daniels' elder brother. The arrest followed a petition filed against him and three other individuals.

According to FCT Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh, the petition included allegations of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying. The police statement was released on Friday, November 7, 2025.

Phyna has called on authorities to ensure justice is served, particularly regarding the case involving Regina's brother, which appears connected to the ongoing marital dispute.

Mixed Public Reactions

The situation has sparked diverse reactions across social media platforms. Some users support Tacha's position, while others have criticized what they perceive as hypocrisy.

One social media user commented: "When they are making horrible decisions, enjoying wealth they and their lineage never worked for it is not a crime. When she was using that man to oppress poor women and the less privileged it was absolutely okay."

Another user expressed disappointment: "I always thought you get sense pass Phyna but omo na today you prove me wrong and e pain me why na."

A different perspective emerged from another commenter: "From now on, all man for himself, after enjoying the wealth she should also be able to handle whatever comes after."

The ongoing situation continues to generate significant discussion about marriage, wealth, and gender dynamics in contemporary Nigerian society.
