Woman Celebrates One Year After Tubal Ligation, Child-Free

A 34-year-old South African woman, Vhahangwele Rashaka, who has chosen not to have children, announced that she will soon mark one year since undergoing a surgical procedure to remove her fallopian tubes. The medical officer shared her experience in a Facebook post on Saturday, June 13, describing the operation as a significant personal achievement.

Living Her Wildest Dreams

Rashaka expressed immense satisfaction with her decision, stating, "I am living my wildest dreams. I am living the life I definitely imagined when I was an 18 year old girl." She emphasized that her choice, though often criticized, has brought her happiness and fulfillment.

Choosing Herself

"This is important because I chose what is frowned upon most of the time, I chose me and me alone. I became selfish for my happiness and that's one great accomplishment," she added. Her story highlights the growing trend of women opting for permanent contraception and embracing a child-free lifestyle.
