Grace Makun, the wife of popular fashion designer Yomi Casual, has taken a strong stance against what she describes as the hypocrisy of Nigerians regarding the late actor Alexx Ekubo. In a series of posts on her Instagram Story, she addressed critics who had previously condemned the actor but now express grief following his death.
Grace Makun Calls Out Double Standards
The businesswoman has been vocal since Ekubo's passing, sharing insights into her husband's emotional experience of making the suit worn by the actor at his burial. She also revealed that Ekubo was married while alive. In her latest post, she highlighted the contradictory behavior of many Nigerians.
According to her, while Alexx Ekubo was alive, people labeled him and his friends with untrue names and condemned him. However, now that he has passed away, the same individuals are shedding tears and expressing sympathy. She questioned the authenticity of such grief.
Sharing a Man's Post on Hypocrisy
In the same Instagram Story, Grace shared a message from a man named Godwin, who commented on the burial rites and the treatment Ekubo received. Godwin noted that the internet became a courtroom where Ekubo was tried and judged without knowing his struggles or the truth. He added that after enduring name-calling, Ekubo left social media to protect his sanity, and later fell ill.
Recall that a few years ago, Alexx Ekubo was embroiled in a public controversy after his engagement to his former fiancée ended. He faced heavy online backlash before withdrawing from social media, leaving many wondering about his whereabouts. Following his death, some people visited his ex-lover's page to criticize her, alleging her actions contributed to his emotional struggles and demise.
