Yung6ix Tells Tinubu to Resign Over Oyo School Kidnappings

US-based Nigerian rapper Onome Onokohwomo, popularly known as Yung6ix, has finally spoken out regarding the recent abduction of teachers and students in Oyo State. He directed a strong message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, demanding immediate action or resignation.

Yung6ix Calls for Presidential Accountability

In a video shared on his Instagram page on June 2, 2026, Yung6ix joined the growing public outcry over the nation's escalating insecurity. He emphasized that the foremost responsibility of any president is to protect the lives of citizens, not merely to manage economic policies or allocate contracts.

According to Yung6ix, if the government fails to secure the release of the kidnapped victims or guarantee the safety of Nigerians, citizens have every right to question its performance and demand accountability. He argued that borrowing money and awarding contracts are insufficient; if President Tinubu cannot provide solutions, he should seek help from those who can.

Yung6ix: 'If Tinubu Cannot Protect Us, He Must Go'

The rapper stated, “The job of a president is not the job of a layman. A president is someone that can protect a nation. If you cannot protect our nation, Nigeria, oga, just leave. It simply means you cannot do the job.” He added that the role goes beyond financial allocations and that tackling insecurity requires a collective effort.

Yung6ix also pointed out that there are individuals with the capacity to confront bandits effectively, and the government should engage them if necessary. He stressed that this is not a one-person task but a collective responsibility.

Concluding his message, Yung6ix reiterated: “Tinubu, if you cannot protect us, then Tinubu must go. I’ve said my own.”
