The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Lagos Region 1, took the gospel to the streets of Lekki on Sunday, combining evangelism with humanitarian outreach by distributing over 500 packs of rice to vulnerable residents.
The outreach, conducted under the church’s World Evangelism Day programme, saw members move through Lekki Roundabout, Jakande and other major streets and neighbourhoods within the Lekki axis, sharing gospel tracts, praying with individuals and families, and providing food support to those in need.
The exercise forms part of MFM Worldwide’s ongoing commitment to soul-winning and demonstrating God’s love through practical acts of compassion. Over the years, MFM has expanded its evangelism efforts through a combination of gospel preaching, humanitarian interventions, food distribution programmes, prison visits, hospital evangelism and community-based outreach initiatives.
The ministry has increasingly embraced practical expressions of Christianity, combining spiritual outreach with social support to reach vulnerable populations and spread the gospel message.
The church’s evangelism drive is being championed through various programmes, including its widely publicised Explosive Evangelism Initiative (EEI), a strategic soul-winning campaign designed to mobilise members for sustained evangelism activities in cities, rural communities and public spaces.
Speaking during the outreach, the Senior Regional Overseer of the Lekki Mega Region, Pastor Moses Adebowale, said the church was committed to taking the gospel beyond the four walls of the church.
“We stepped out in faith to share the love, hope and salvation found in Christ with people on the streets and within our communities,” he said.
Adebowale explained that the General Overseer of MFM, Daniel Olukoya, and his wife, Folashade Olukoya, had directed all MFM branches worldwide to intensify soul-winning efforts in line with Christ’s mandate.
“The gospel is about transforming lives spiritually and touching lives physically. Evangelism is our divine assignment. We are here to share God’s love through His Word and through acts of compassion,” he said.
Also speaking, Pastor Olufemi Odelabi, Assembly Pastor of MFM Lagos Region 1, Igbo Efon, Lekki, stressed that the church’s mission is to win souls for Christ and depopulate the kingdom of darkness. He noted that MFM regularly undertakes evangelistic outreaches and deliverance programmes that have transformed lives.
“Led by our Senior Regional Overseer, Pastor Moses Adebowale, and his wife, brethren from across the region came together in unity to share the good news of Jesus Christ, pray for people and extend the love of God to everyone we encountered,” Odelabi said.
“It was a powerful reminder that evangelism is not just an event; it is our divine assignment. Every tract shared, every prayer offered and every word of encouragement carried the message that Jesus still saves, heals and transforms lives.
“We thank God for a successful outreach and pray that every seed sown will yield an abundant harvest.”
On her part, the Lekki District Evangelism Leader, Evangelist Patience Udeme, explained that MFM’s Evangelism Department operates through several specialised units targeting different segments of society with both the gospel message and humanitarian support.
According to her, these include hospital evangelism, prison and correctional centre outreach, market evangelism, rural missions, motor park evangelism, school outreach, house-to-house witnessing, visitation programmes, and mass crusades. She added that the ministry also conducts “Church-in-the-Street” activities and trade fair evangelism programmes.
“The church believes that different communities require different approaches. As a result, evangelists are deployed to markets, hospitals, transport terminals and underserved communities where they engage people through personal interactions, prayer sessions and the distribution of gospel literature,” she said.
Udeme noted that MFM’s annual World Evangelism Day remains a major component of the church’s outreach strategy, with members across the globe participating in coordinated evangelism exercises and large-scale tract distribution campaigns.
She further explained that the church views evangelism as an important tool for addressing societal challenges such as crime, hopelessness, and social instability, while fostering positive transformation within communities.
According to her, the initiative is part of the ministry’s broader vision of “saturating the world with the gospel” while balancing spiritual ministry with meaningful social impact.
